Therefore, to reach the city center (or to the hotel) you must also take the St. Petersburg Metro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are <a href=\"https:\/\/pulkovoairport.ru\/transport\/bus\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/pulkovoairport.ru\/transport\/bus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">two buses<\/a> that you can take as soon as you leave the arrivals hall and that will take you to the nearest metro station, called Moskovskaya: 39 and 39E. Both run from 5:15 in the morning to 1:36 at night, with a frequency of every 12-20 minutes. The ticket costs 65 rubles.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rusalia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Mapa-Aeropuerto-Pulkovo-1024x470.jpg\" alt=\"Pulkovo airport map\" class=\"wp-image-7890\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>All these buses will leave you the station Moskovskaya metro, just outside St. Petersburg, which means you have to buy a metro ticket to get to the center of St. Petersburg. <strong>Moskovskaya subway line is No. 2<\/strong> (the blue) and passes through the center of the city (Nevsky Prospekt stop).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>St. Petersburg Metro: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Website<\/strong>: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.metro.spb.ru\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">http:\/\/www.metro.spb.ru\/en\/<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Map<\/strong>:&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.metro.spb.ru\/en\/uploads\/img\/map\/shema_28.12.12c.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">St.&nbsp;Petersburg Metro<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Metro Schedule<\/strong>: the St. Petersburg Metro begins to open their stations at around 5:30 am and closes at around 1:00 in the morning. For about 135 rubles it is possible to reach the city center (65 rubles the bus and 70 rubles the Metro ticket)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Disadvantages of using the bus and Metro<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>You have to make transhipments, which is inconvenient if you have many suitcases or they are too heavy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you arrive at dawn to St. Petersburg, you can\u2019t use the bus or the Metro<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Option 2: Taxi<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The other option to go to St. Petersburg is by taxi, a more expensive but more convenient option. The cab ride to downtown St. Petersburg lasts 30 to 60 minutes, depending on traffic volume.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can book a taxi in two ways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Book taxi at the airport itself<\/strong>. The best option and the one <a href=\"https:\/\/pulkovoairport.ru\/transport\/taxi\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/pulkovoairport.ru\/transport\/taxi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">recommended by the airport<\/a> is to book a taxi through the <a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=ru.yandex.taxi\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=ru.yandex.taxi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Yandex Go<\/a> application. It is very easy to sign up for this application using your mobile number. Taxi payment can be made in advance (using a Russian bank card) or in cash when taking the taxi.
