In this post, I explain the different alternatives that are offered in the city for taking guided tours in English or in other languages.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rusalia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/\u00abRadisson-Royal-Moscow\u00bb-flotilla-Kremlin.jpg\" alt=\"\u00abRadisson Royal Moscow\u00bb flotilla - Kremlin\" class=\"wp-image-7647\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>The fastest and most economical way to explore the city of Moscow is to <a href=\"https:\/\/russiable.com\/using-moscow-metro\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">use the Metro<\/a>&nbsp;but it can also be visited through various tourist services that are offered in the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Guided tour on foot<\/strong>: There are several companies that do free guided tours through the center of Moscow (that are financed through voluntary tipping) and paid excursions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>By bike<\/strong>: It is also possible to take a guided bike ride.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Tour bu<\/strong><strong>s<\/strong>: Like many other large cities, it is also possible to visit Moscow via tour bus.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Taxi<\/strong>: There are taxi companies that do private tours through the city.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Tour boat:&nbsp;<\/strong>Another very highly recommended way to visit the city is via a cruise on the river Moskva that goes through the center of the city.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Other alternatives<\/strong>: It is also possible to visit the city via motorcycle, Segway, hot air balloon, helicopter, plane, or streetcar.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Basic Information<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>The majority of tourist services offered by companies are sited as being offered in English and in Russian, although some also offer tours in other languages like German, Spanish, Italian, or French.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1181\" src=\"https:\/\/russiable.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Moscow-CityPass-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Moscow CityPass\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/russiable.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Moscow-CityPass-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/russiable.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Moscow-CityPass-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/russiable.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Moscow-CityPass.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Like in other large cities, in Moscow there is also a <strong>special tourist card<\/strong> offered, called the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.getyourguide.com\/moscow-l181\/moscow-russia-city-pass-t66836\/?partner_id=R5HVTJ4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Moscow CityPass<\/a>, and it offers access to different museums, to a tour bus, and to a cruise on the river Moskva. I have done the calculations and I sincerely believe that it is better to pay the daily entry fees for the museums in rubles. However, everyone should do their own calculations in order to find out if it is worth it to buy the card.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Before hiring any of the services mentioned in this blog, I recommend read the opinions of other travelers who have used their services on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.getyourguide.com\/moscow-l181\/?partner_id=R5HVTJ4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">GetYourGuide<\/a> platform.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Guided walking tour<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the best ways to familiar yourself with a city is the do a <strong>guided walking tour through the center of Moscow<\/strong>. Many companies do free tours through the city center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.civitatis.com\/en\/moscow\/free-walking-tour-moscow\/?aid=1395\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Civitatis<\/a> offer free <a href=\"https:\/\/www.civitatis.com\/en\/moscow\/free-walking-tour-moscow\/?aid=1395\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">daily walking free tours<\/a> through the city center to visit the exteriors of the Red Square, Saint Basil\u2019s Cathedral and the Kremlin complex, among many others. For example, the <em>Grand Moscow Bike Tour<\/em> allows you to see the architectural marvels of the city, as well as the city parks. The tour leaves every day at 11 in the morning, lasts 5 and a half hours, and costs 70 dollars per person for groups of more than 3 people. You should make a reservation in advance on their website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The advantage of the bike, apart from being ecological and avoiding traffic jams, is that it allows you the agility to explore the extensive terrain of the capital of Russia, although it is always preferable to do the tour in the summer and with plenty of time. Tour boat cruises<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The river Moskva, that forms part of the watershed of the Volga, goes through the city of Moscow. It offers the possibility to <strong>see the city from a very different viewpoint,<\/strong> via a <strong>boat cruise<\/strong>. There are many different companies that do cruises on the river Moskva. Among them, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.radisson-cruise.ru\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Radisson Royal Fleet<\/a>&nbsp;and its modern boats with restaurant service stand out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The boats offer two different routes, one that leaves from the Hotel Ukrania and the other from Gorky Park and they last between 2.5 to 3 hours without stops (starting and finishing in the same place). They also do night tours as well. The tickets can also be purchased online or at the point of embarkation. I suppose that during high season it could be recommended to buy your tickets in advance online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Depending on whether or not you go in first class or tourist class, the prices can oscillate between 700 and 2,000 rubles per person. If you want to eat or have dinner on the boat, this has an additional cost.
