This guide, which I update every year, has an eminently practical character (<em>Do it Yourself!<\/em>) that Lonely Planet guides would&nbsp;actually love to have \ud83d\ude09 The sale of this guide, along with my work as Russian language teacher, and some of the services I recommend are the ones that support this blog and that have allowed me to convert my hobby into my work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who am I and how did I get here?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>So you can know me a little better and understand how I got here, here I tell you a bit about me:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>I am <strong>Russian by birth<\/strong> (1974). My <strong>father is Russian<\/strong>, but I have the surnames of my <strong>Spanish mother<\/strong>, also born in Russia and daughter of Spanish exiles during the <strong>Spanish Civil War<\/strong>, the so-called Children of Russia (thousands of children sent into exile from the Republican zone to the Soviet Union, between the years 1937 and 1938).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I have <strong>spent half my life in Russia<\/strong> and the other half outside of Russia.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I began to work as a <strong>Russian interpreter<\/strong>, back in 1995, when the Russians were a &#8220;rare&nbsp;<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-10523\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rusalia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Irena-en-cementerio-Novodevichi-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Irena en cementerio Novodevichi\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\">species&#8221; abroad, since the disintegration of the former USSR was still quite recent.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>My professional life has been linked for the last 20 years to the world of <strong>teaching, and also as a Russian language translator and interpreter<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In mid-2015 I created this blog about Russia where I started publishing content about travels, especially for people interested in traveling to Russia independently.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>From 2015 to the present, the blog has grown slowly, but without pause and has become one of the <strong>most visited on the Internet about traveling to Russia<\/strong>, though I still have a lot of work ahead to make it the most complete guide ever written to travel to Russia and beyond \ud83d\ude42<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome to Russiable, the blog to travel to Russia and beyond (Buzz Lightyear dixit) My name is Irena Domingo, I have spent half of my life in Russia and the other half outside it.
